The OMB-DBK90 module provides56 channels of high-accuracythermocouple (TC) inputs. TheOMB-DBK90 is ideally suited forhigh-channel-count TC applications,with a maximum TC capacity of 896channels per system. For largerchannel-count applications, multiplemainframes can be combined fora maximum channel capacity of3584 channels. Thermocouples attach to theOMB-DBK90 via mini-TC inputconnectors, and any TC typecan be installed into any channel.Each row of 14 TC inputs hasa separate cold-junction sensorto ensure accurate readings.
OMB-DBK90 modules are housedin a rugged all-metal packagethat can be connected to anOMB-DAQSCAN-2000 and rack-mountedwith an optional rack-mount kit.When multiple OMB-DBK90’s aremounted together, a male andfemale P1 connector on either sideof the unit provides all systemconnections so that only a singlecable is required back to the A/Dmainframe. For distributedapplications, such as throughout thecabin of a vehicle, OMB-DBK90modules can be mounted asseparate units. Up to 20' of cablecan be used to connectOMB-DBK90 modules.
Each OMB-DBK90 has a built-inauto-zero channel and a CJCchannel. The OMB-DBK90 canmeasure one TC channel in 3 ms,14 TC channels in 16 ms, and all 56TC channels in 61 ms.An OMB-DBK90 based system of896 channels can be measured in976 ms. This speed is slower thanother OMB-DBK modules to ensurethat the TC measurements areaccurate, low-noise, and stable.Typical measurement accuraciesare better than 0.7°C, with channel-to-channel variation typically lessthan 0.5°C. If OMB-DBK90 measurements aremixed with measurements fromother OMB-DBK options, the othermeasurements can be made at theirstandard 5 or 10 µs/channel rate.
