Description
The MPS10 has been designed withboth safety and ease of operation inmind, making it ideal for use ineducation. The temperature isselected, measured and displayeddigitally making it accurate andnegating the need for athermometer. The MPS10 displaystemperature to 1 degree resolution.Two samples can be testedsimultaneously. They are viewedvia a magnifying lens with clearobservation aided by built-inillumination. Adjustable back feetallow the unit to be operated at theoptimum viewing angle. Full accessto the block aids cleaning. Thesimple to follow instructions areprinted directly on the instrument.To operate simply select a plateautemperature via the digital displayand press “start”. The unit quicklyheats up and remains at theselected plateau temperature untilthe user is ready to start the test.Insert the sample tubes and press“start”. The unit then heats at afixed rate of 2°C per minute for theMPS10. When the sample is seento melt, note the temperature on thedisplay. Press “stop” to end heatingand cool the block.
Melting Point TubesMade from soda glass, these tubesare easy to seal in a Bunsen flameand cleanly break in two. Suppliedin a robust tube holder, pack of100 tubes. Tube overall lengthis 100 mm tube diameter =1.9 mm (0.07"), inner diameter =1.3 mm (0.05") and wall thickness =0.3 mm (0.01").
