The OS-XL is not just anothernon-contact temperature measurementdevice–the OS-XL allows the user toview and verify the measurementsubject on the LCD screen whilesimultaneously measuring thetemperature at 64 points. The OS-XLcan actually display and save data witha graphic representation of thetemperature distribution overlaid on animage of the subject being measured.Furthermore, device operation isextremely easy, similar to that of adigital camera, greatly increasingoperation efficiency. The Newly Developed 64-Element Thermopile Array
A thermopile is the heart of most of today's leading infraredthermometers. The Thermopile Array consists of a matrix of multiplethermopile elements, but attempts to put this technology into practicalapplication have been hindered by size and sensitivity problems. trodekshas managed to overcome these problems using semiconductorprocessing based micromachining, successfully developing a micro-size,high-sensitivity thermopile. The resulting 64-element Thermopile Arrayconsists of an 8 x 8 matrix of 0.5 mm2 (0.02"2) elements, the first suchmatrix in the world to be put into practical application.

The true value of the OS-XL lies in its ability todisplay temperature distribution on an imageof the measurement subject.
The image of the object being measured is dividedinto a 64-frame grid. The temperature distribution isdisplayed in corresponding colors on the grid linesframing each area. Temperature is measured in eachframe. The cursor can be used to select a specificframe in order to display the temperature for that area in0.1° increments. The OS-XL provides easy operationsfor both measuring and recording data. The OS-XL alsoprovides a diverse range of settings functions and dataoptions supporting "smart temperature measurement"with its enhanced functionality.

All recorded data is saved on a Compact Flash (CF) card.

All of themeasured values for each grid frame are saved for each image. TheOS-XL can simultaneously record data for 64 measurement locations.(Images are saved in JPEG format, and measured values aresaved simultaneously as a CSV-format file.)

The OS-XL saves data in formatsthat can be easily edited by computer.
The data saved on the CF card can be read by mostcomputers. It is easily viewed and edited withoutusing specialized software. With Microsoft Excel, theimage and measurement data can also be analyzedand used to generate illustrated reports.

Measurement conditions can be easily recorded using the OS-XL's video output
The OS-XL is equipped with a video output jack, so the measurement conditionscan be easily recorded on videotape or monitored on a large-screen TV.(Please use the video cable included with your unit for video output.)

Easy Operation, with the Feelof a Digital CameraIn addition to making measurements, the OS-XL also makesit easy to save data—just line up the object being measuredin the LCD monitor and press the "Save" button. Thelightweight, compact body of the OS-XL makes it anexceptionally convenient measurement device.
