Description
Description
New Super trodeksCLAD® XL sheathedmineral-insulated thermocouple wire, designated “XL” for ordering, can be used atultra-high temperatures for prolonged periodswith very little drift of the base metalthermocouple. The sheath material usesNickel-Chrome based Super trodeksCLAD®XL sheathing, which provides excellentoxidation resistance. The sheath can withstandexposure to combustion gases or air attemperatures up to 1335°C (2435°F). Superiorresistance to oxidation attack results from atenacious and protective high-temperature filmthat does not affect the stability of thethermocouple alloys. This film permits thesensor to be used at ultra-high temperaturesfor prolonged periods with improved accuracyover other available sheath materials. SupertrodeksCLAD® XL sheathing also providesexcellent resistance to corrosion in hightemperature chlorine-contaminated oxidizingenvironments and ammonia/nitride-richenvironments at temperatures above 980°C(1800°F), the temperature at which theprotective film forms.
