Description
The FFB-8 is a precision fluidizedbath, with exceptional temperaturestability and uniformity, which makethem the ideal choice for criticaltemperature sensor calibration andheat treatment processes. FFB-8fluidized (sand) bath has becomethe market standard for carrying outshape setting (heat treatmentprocessing) of metals includingNitinol and platinum for medicaldevice manufacturing. This unit issuitable for many other applications,including thermal testing of sensitivecomponents such as semiconductordevices, wire products, delicatetransducers and may also be usedas a constant temperatureenvironment for chemical reactions.Because the fluidized bed is a fine,dry powder, it does not have surfacetension effects of liquid baths andwill not wet any immersedcomponents. The electricalinsulating properties of the aluminaused in the FFB-8 are not affectedby fluidization making.* The dead bed mode of operation is enteredby shutting off air and power to the unit.The system reaches a state of thermalequilibrium after the bath media collapsesand stability is better than ±0.010°C for aperiod of 3 to 6 minutes. This allows forprecise comparison calibration oftemperature sensors in the bath.
