Description
trodeks's high accuracy piezoresistive pressure transducers have aproven record in high performance commercial andaerospace applications for over 25 years. Thepiezoresistive process uses strain gages molecularlyembedded into a highly stable silicon wafer. The siliconwafer is diced into individual die which each contain afull strain gage bridge. The die is mounted in a sealedchamber protected from the environment by glass tometal seals and a stainless steel diaphragm.
A small volume of silicone oil transfers the pressure fromthe diaphragm to the strain bridge. The constructionprovides a very rugged transducer with exceptionalaccuracy, stability and thermal effects. A unique designruggedizes the transducers by providing secondary fluidcontainment in the event of a diaphragm rupture.
At our state-of-the-art facilities, automated testequipment performs pressure and temperature cyclingon 100% of the PX409 transducers. The transducersare then calibrated using extremely high accuracyequipment and a 5-point NIST traceable calibration certificate is included with each transducer. Theinherent stability of the piezoresistive core providesexcellent long term stability, repeatability and very lowthermal effects at the price of much lower performancetransducers. Standard features of the PX409 Seriesalso include protective features built into the electronicsand the pressure element. Reverse polarity, EMC, andpower supply fluctuation protection are standard on allmodels. For Intrinsically Safe and CSA ratings see model PXM509.
