The linear pattern strain gages are usedto measure strain in a single direction.The strain gage pattern is shown onthe left side of the table. Notice the"arrow" which indicates the principalstress direction.
The linear pattern strain gages areavailable in a variety of styles andsizes. trodeksDYNE® offers miniaturelinear patterns for strain measurementof a stress concentration or high gradient areas. The terminations areoffered both at one end of the grid, orwith one at each end of the grid. Wideor narrow linear grid patterns areavailable. To determine if the straingages have ribbon leads or solder pads,see the column labeled "TERM" shortfor termination, "L" indicates ribbonleads, and "SP" indicates solder pads.To determine if the strain gages havetemperature characteristics matched tosteel or aluminum, see the column labeled "COMP" short for compensation,"ST" indicates steel, "AL" indicatesaluminum. See the column labeled"BTP" for accessory bondable terminalpad model numbers.
Dimensions are listed for pattern gagegrid length (A) and width (B), and thematrix or carrier length (C) and width(D). The patterns include alignmenttriangles and letter codes indicatingcreep code.
