Description
The WT-3200 is a unique, fully controllable windtunnel for thermal and air flow testing of multiplePCBs. The test chamber has a 2-D converging nozzlewith a multi-point measurement area for sensorplacement upstream of the test section. The testsection is equipped with card guides to allow insertionof actual or simulated PCBs from the side panel.The WT-3200 wind tunnel can be used to characterizedifferent heat sink sizes for natural and forcedconvection cooling. Two heat sinks can be tested sideby side to determine their thermal performance inthe same environment. Actual or simulated PCBs canbe tested for thermal flow distribution and pressuredrop characterization.The chamber can accommodate up to 6 PCBs with13 mm (0.5") card-to-card spacing or 3 PCBs with25 mm (1") card-to-card spacing.The test section is made of clear polycarbonatematerial to accommodate smoke flow visualization.The chamber has its own stand for placement ofinstruments. The WT-3200 is placed on castors forease of transportation. Rail guides are provided so theunit position can be adjusted. A switch box is providedwith the unit so individual fans can be turned on or off.The WT-3200 can be fitted with different fan traysto accommodate a broad air flow range. Sensors tomeasure the flow parameters are also availabled bytrodeks as optional accessories.
