FPR1501 Series flow sensors canmeasure extremely low flow ratesfrom 15 mL/min. They are suitablefor a wide variety of industrial,commercial, and laboratory flowapplications.
Because the FPR1501 flow sensorshave only PTFE and sapphirewetted surfaces, it is anticipated thatthey will replace conventional glasstube and ball flowmeters in manyapplications in which an electricalsignal proportional to flow rate isdesirable, even in very corrosiveapplications in which the liquid islow in viscosity (i.e., less than10 centistokes).
Models use a Pelton-type turbinewheel to determine the flow rate ofthe liquid. The rotation rate of theturbine wheel is linear over a largedynamic range. The electro-opticalsystem consists of a diode emittingenergy in the infrared spectrum. Lightenergy is interrupted and passedfrom 8 small holes in the small turbinewheel. This reflected light energy isdetected by a photodiode. Thus, as the turbinewheel rotates inresponse to the liquidflow rate, electricalpulses are generated.Processing circuitryprovides a DC voltageoutput and bufferedsquare-wave outputpulses that areproportional tothe flow rate.
Tube Fitting:
1/8" tube fittings for flowrates up to 100 ml/min
¼" tube fitting for flow rates from 100 ml/min. to 2 liters/min
3/8" tube fitting for flow rates greater than 2 liters/min.
