The DRA-CSM-1 CurrentMultiplexer is a solid statemultiplexer capable of transferringthe selected 4-20 mA input currentsignal to the output terminals in lessthan 10 microseconds at anaccuracy better than 0.01%. TheDRA-CSM-1 is typically controlledby a PLC thereby obtaining full datasynchronization.The DRA-CSM-1 is provided with aunit enable/disable control linewhich enables the parallelconnection of several multiplexersto the same controller input. Theperiod during which the unit isdisabled is used for self-testingaccording to a self-test procedurewhich checks the unit’s hardware.Model DRA-CSM-1 is powered byan external DC power supply. Eachtwo-wire 4-20 mA transmitter isconnected to the input terminals.Each channel provides a currentlimited voltage supply for the connected two-wire transmitter. Thechannel selected by the multiplexeris directed to the control device’s(e.g., PLC’s) analog inputs. Poweris maintained by the multiplexer tothe unselected channels therebymaintaining uninterruptedtransmitter current flow. Each4-20 mA input channel on themultiplexer has its own red LEDstatus light which illuminates onpresence of current in the loop.
