Description
The DRA-RTM-8 is a 16 channelanalog multiplexer. Eight channelsaccept 3-wire 100 Ohm Pt RTDinputs, and the other eight channelsaccept 4-20 mA process inputs. All16 inputs are multiplexed into asingle 4-20 mA current loop output.The selection function is performedvia four binary control linesgenerated by the host controller(PLC program).Model DRA-RTM-8 is an all solidstate unit that multiplexes the inputchannels at a switching time of lessthan 20 microseconds. Each of theRTD inputs is completely signalconditioned including a 6 dip-switcharray for coarse channel ranging aswell as zero and span trimmers onthe front panel for fine ranging.Special attention is given to the leadlength compensation parameterbecause, unlike ordinarytransmitters, the DRA-RTM-8 couldbe mounted relatively far from theRTD sensors. The 4-20 mA output from the DRA-RTM-8 is linearized tothe RTD input.The DRA-RTM-8’s superb accuracyand simple operation make it a veryattractive unit allowing tremendouscost savings by reducing the needfor expensive PLC or dataacquisition analog inputs.
