Description
Description
Series G molded case circuit breakersprovide increased performance inconsiderably less space than standard circuitbreakers or comparable fusible devices. The"G" signifies global applications: Series Gcircuit breakers are marked with UL, CSA,CE, IEC and KEMA, KEUR listings.
The EG frames are designed around spacesavingfootprints. Series G circuit breakersmeet applicable UL 489 and IEC 60947-2standards. The G family includes five framesizes in ratings from 15 to 100 amperes.Series G offers a choice of severalinterrupting capacities up to 18 kA at 415and 480 Vac. Standard calibration is 40°C.
The flexibility and outstanding performancecharacteristics of the circuit breakers aremade possible by the best contact designs incircuit breaker history. Our technologycreates a high-speed "blow-open" actionusing the electromechanical forces producedby high-level fault currents.
These circuit breakers are operated by atoggle-type mechanism that is mechanicallytrip-free from the handle so that the contactscannot be held closed against short circuitcurrents. Tripping due to overload or shortcircuits is clearly indicated by the position onthe handle. This remarkably fast anddependable contact action is designed toenhance safety.
The quality, dependability and reliability ofevery circuit breaker is ensured by athorough program of in-plant testing. Twocalibration tests are conducted on every poleof every circuit breaker to verify the tripmechanism, operating mechanism, continuity and accuracy.
Circuit breakers are current limiting becauseof their high repulsion contact arrangementand use of state-of-the-art arc extinguishingtechnology. trodeks offers one of the mostcomplete lines of current limiting breakers inthe industry.
Circuit Breakers have a toggle handleoperating mechanism, which also servesas a switching position indicator. Theindicator shows the positions of: ON, OFFand TRIPPED.
The toggle handle snaps into the TRIPPEDposition if the breaker is tripped by one of itsovercurrent, short circuit, shunt orundervoltage releases. Before the circuitbreaker can be reclosed following a trip-out,the toggle handle must be brought beyondthe OFF position (RESET). The circuitbreaker can then be reclosed.
As an additional switching position indicatorfor EG- Frame circuit breakers, there are twowindows on the right and on the left of thetoggle handle, in which the switching state isindicated by means of the colors red, greenand white corresponding to the ON, OFF andTRIPPED positions respectively.
